We booked this tour to fill up a day prior to starting an organized tour of Australia and New Zealand. Having only arrived 2 days prior from the U. S., I didn't think we could manage the 12 hour trip on the Great Ocean Road, so booked this 'express' tour. Our guide, Francois, was waiting for us in the hotel lobby at 7:30 am. He made sure we were wrapped up warmly before taking us to his car. As we left Melbourne, Francois discussed some of the sights we were passing on the way. He let us know the format for the day: about a three hour drive with a potty stop halfway out. When we stopped for a break, the public restroom was clean, and across the street from a small cafe where we could buy our lunch for later, and grab a cup of coffee. Francois provided bottled water. Once we arrived at the park, we made 3 stops in all to appreciate the views and take photos. This also included a stop at the visitors' center for a quick potty stop. Although the weather was cold and windy on the day we visited, it was absolutely worth the time and cost to travel here. The views were dramatic, with a high contrast among the rocks, the ocean, and the sky. Besides being able to see the 12 Apostles there aren't really 12, BTW, we also walked down to the beach which gave us a different perspective and filled our shoes up with sand too. Francois was an excellent guide, and he shared his knowledge of and experiences in Australia. We very much enjoyed talking with him to fill the time on the way, although he also let us have quiet time which was very much appreciated.
very enthusiastic guide
We found the half day to be perfect with a great guide, Francois, with great stories on a great day in a beautiful country.
