About this activity
This combo experience from Melbourne allows you to save money by booking two bestselling tours at one price. The Great Ocean Road and Penguin Parade tours can be done on consecutive days or not—it's up to you.

Penguin Parade tour:

Depart Melbourne in the afternoon by coach, heading to Phillip Island. Visit Warrook Homestead for afternoon tea and get up close to kangaroos.

Continue to the Koala Conservation Centre on Phillip Island, and walk along an elevated boardwalk where koalas are looked after in their natural habitat, sleeping in and munching on eucalyptus trees. After about 20 minutes here, it’s time to head to the Penguin Parade, where every evening at sunset, the island’s wild fairy penguins, aka little penguins, make their way up from the sea to their burrows on Summerland Beach. Watch as they waddle across the sand, a sight best seen from the Penguins Plus Premium Viewing Area. The time you spend here varies depending on the season and when the penguins emerge from the water.

Your tour ends with return to Melbourne.

Great Ocean Road tour:

After meeting your driver-guide in the morning, depart Melbourne on the roughly 2-hour drive to your first stop, the Twelve Apostles. Stop at the boardwalk lookout for another vast perspective of the rocks. (Weather permitting, you also have the opportunity to take a helicopter ride over the coastline, if you wish, at your own expense.)

After about 45 minutes, continue your day trip for more views of the Great Ocean Road’s golden sandy beaches and stark cliffs at Loch Ard Gorge, the site of the

Loch Ard shipwreck. During this 45-minute stop, you also have time to visit Island Arch and Razorback, formed by the rough seas.

A quick morning tea stop (own expense) at Anglesea and then an extended stop at the seaside resort town of Apollo Bay, where you can purchase lunch—perhaps some fish and chips—and enjoy it on the beach (own expense).

Before the journey back to the city, make a 20-minute stop for afternoon tea in the seaside town of Port Campbell (own expense). Your day trip ends with drop-off in Melbourne.

Loved John as our tour guide for the Phillip island penguin parade. Gave us great advice about where to sit to see the best views. Glad the tour gives you an option to upgrade to penguin plus viewing area. Great ocean road sites were gorgeous and Grayline was very accommodating about switching the days due to bad weather. Would have liked more time at Loch Ard gorge. There's almost no way to see everything unless you're very athletic and don't spend more than a minute talking pictures then move on. Beware the driver travels very quickly on these steep windy roads and you'll feel like you're on a roller coaster sloshing around!

Big ben have been really nice!! He shared a lot of experiences with the tour and made the trip worthwhile- brought us to places to take photos and drive extremely slow so as we could take a good photo of the wild life (especially wallabies!) Thank you again!!!!

I signed up for the “Reverse” Great Ocean Tour specifically to arrive at the 12 Apostles first to avoid the crowds. However, 1 hour into the ride, I realized this was the regular route.

The package tour on great ocean road and Phillip island was great and amazing! The commentary by the driver made the trip insightful and there were many stops along the way to keep our cameras and eyes occupied!

The tours were okay, because they took us to the promised places, which were wonderful. However, the time in each place was not at all proportionate to the beauty of the places. For example, we had plenty of time on a farm and not enough with the pinguins or the gorgeous beaches of the ocean road
