Stop At: Trike Tours Melbourne, 1 Southbank Bvd Level 2, Riverside Quay, Melbourne, Victoria 3006 Australia
Explore the fascinating history and scenic locations of Melbourne aboard our stunning Boom Trike on this day long tour that visits many venues and bayside, sporting and parkland locations, for which Melbourne is known. If you want to cover Melbourne from the fringes of the City to the edge of the Bay and many parts in between, then this is the tour for you in one day long adventure.
You'll visit the areas steeped in Melbourne's origins and explore them by trike and by foot as we tell you of the many historic facts, tales and trivia of the locations you explore. You'll travel over bridges, walk along piers, get sand in your toes at the famous Brighton Beach boxes, experience the rush of the Australian Grand Prix Formula 1 circuit, visit rivers at their mouth and in the bush, observe flying foxes in their natural habitat or maybe a Little Penguin in its colony, and pass through sporting precincts that include the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground - all in the one exciting day. And if it's not on our planned route, just ask us and we may be able to fit it in!
We will visit the historic maritime village of Williamstown, located on Hobson’s Bay and Port Phillip Bay, and learn of the area’s rich maritime history and its significance in both the development and defence of Melbourne. We’ll travel along the foreshore of Port Phillip Bay to visit the ever-popular St Kilda area with all its charms and iconic landmarks including Luna Park, the Palais Theatre, St Kilda Pier and the Esplanade Markets (operating on Sundays only). You’ll see those colourful Melbourne icons, the famous Brighton Beach Boxes, and walk along the beach, then learn and see more of our maritime history with a stop at Half Moon Bay. You’ll almost fly around the Australian Grand Prix Formula 1 circuit – so you’d better hold on – as we look to take pole position on our lap. We tour Melbourne’s historic Yarra Bend Park, the largest area of natural bush land left in inner Melbourne, and you will discover its insane history, rich cultural heritage, long expanses of river frontage and even a large roosting camp of up to 30,000 flying foxes. Step back in time as you visit not one but two Boathouses to marvel at the settings, the boats and bird life.
We adapt and personalise all of our tours depending on your requirements within the time frame, and this tour exposes you to a wide range of Melbourne’s attractions – places you will not have discovered otherwise - that you can then explore yourself later during your visit.
