Departing from Melbourne we journey to the Surfcoast and commence our exploration along the Great Ocean Road
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Point Addis Marine National Park, Point Addis Road, Anglesea, Victoria 3228 Australia
Arriving at the Great Ocean Road, our first stop is the spectacular Pt Addis. Taste the salt air, smell the gums & grass trees as we hike along the 3km trail where you will see how the indigenous Wathaurung people lived. You may even see an echidna as we stop to photograph dramatic cliffs and pristine beaches.

Stop At: Split Point Lighthouse, Federal St, Aireys Inlet, Victoria Australia
Senses alive, we journey to Aireys Inlet passing through the coastal hamlet of Anglesea. Arriving at Split point lighthouse, we take in the spectacular coastal scenery that incorporates the Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary and views to Lorne. Surrounded by heritage buildings, significant geological features and biodiversity it is one of the best views on the coast.

Stop At: Moggs Creek Picnic Area, Boyd Avenue, Aireys Inlet, Victoria 3231 Australia
Time for lunch. We travel a short way further around the Great Ocean Road and back into the Great Otway National Park. You will be able to take a breather under the beautiful gums and watch blue wrens forage around your feet. After lunch, we will take a easy walk around the Moggs Creek Circuit (distance: 1.8km, 30 mins), a region teaming with birdlife and native flora, it follows the creek down through the valley and then climbs to a vantage point over the creeks fern-lined banks.

Stop At: Great Ocean Road Memorial Archway, Lorne, Victoria Australia
Back on the road and onto the Great Ocean Road we take a short trip to the beach for some more salt air and a photo opportunity at Eastern View, the location of the iconic Memorial Arch and tribute to the World War One servicemen who built the Great Ocean Road.

We then journey to the township of Torquay, home of surfing legends and globally famous retailers. See locally crafted boards sharing the limelight with surf empires, including local icons Rip Curl and Quiksilver.

Stop At: Bells Beach, 86 km (53 mi) SW of Melbourne; 25 km (16 mi) S of Geelong; 5 km (3 mi) SW of Torquay, Torquay, Victoria 3228 Australia
With a Surfcoast souvenir in hand we drive through Torquay to the iconic Bells Beach, home of the longest running surf competition in history. In winter the South Westerly storms push through and the surf really lights up. Get a photograph of the surfers in action and explore the surrounding cliffs As dusk approaches it is time for some Kangaroo spotting before we hit the road and bid the beautiful Great Ocean Road goodbye.
