Meet your guide in Melbourne and depart for You Yangs Regional Park. As the minivan makes its way over Westgate Bridge, enjoy city views of Melbourne’s skyline. As you arrive, get fitted with your helmet and bike ready for departure. You can expect a bike that is built with front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes for precise stopping power so you can safely tackle the terrain.
Test out your ride with a few preliminary workshop activities then hit the trails to get your blood pumping. The level of difficulty is matched to your ability; more advanced circuits are available for skilled participants, while less confident riders have the option to ride around any obstacles. Start with a 1.5- to 2-hour mountain bike session on the Kurrajong trails, which follow an easy single track that twists through a eucalyptus plantation.
After the morning ride, take a snack break and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Following the break, test your newfound confidence and upgraded skills on You Yang’s east side. Feel the thrill of some flowing descents during a 1- to 1.5-hour session shredding the Stockyard trails — a multitude of single tracks that coast down into an old quarry. After enjoying the adrenalin from this side of the park, we break for lunch and to share stories form the day before returning to Melbourne.
Note: Riding times vary depending on group fitness and ability. The morning session can be split in two with lunch in the middle of the session if necessary.
