I highly recommend this tour if you would like to hear a lot of history and interesting tidbits about Memphis. It was great to taste some of the famous dishes and hear about Beale street. My only complaint is I did really care to have desert first but no big deal. My favorite was the bacon truffle Mac and cheese at Slims.. just amazing! Be ready to walk for three hours.
Taylor ,our guide, was happy to tell us all she knew about downtown Memphis. Her knowledge of the area was definitely a plus. She took us to five different restaurants and each portion was bigger and better than the last. COME HUNGRY! The tour last about three hours but does not feel that long.
If you do any, would recommend you go on the barbeque tour rather than the Taste of Downtown tour. 2-3 of the restaurant stops were pretty minimal for the cost of the event. Be prepared for a high energy tour guide Lance....rather intense and scattered to the point of being uncomfortable.
