Central Andes Horseback Riding & BBQ

About this activity
Itinerary

It could be one of those horseback rides you won’t forget, but horseback riding through the central Andes up the Tupungato River is definitely a unique experience. Seriously, you can’t even imagine!

You’ll have traditional barbecue, wine, the spectacular scenery of the Andean mountains and history on the railroad tracks.

After picking you up, we will travel by car for 3 hours to the central Andes. On the way, you will get to know Cacheuta and its hot springs, the Potrerillos dam and the historic town of Uspallata.

When we arrive at Punta de Vacas (2600 masl), a homemade breakfast will await us in what was one of the stations of the famous Trans-Andean Railroad. There, the third generation of a family of railwaymen will be our hosts.

Once breakfast is over, our adventure will begin by riding for 4 hours on horseback, alongside the Tupungato River (one of the main rivers in Mendoza). On the way, we will visit Spanish ruins and reach a small marsh with a lagoon. At this point, we will have our time of rest and enjoy an Argentinean snack and wine.

This horseback ride closes with the legendary Argentine barbecue.

An enjoyable finger-licking experience!
