About this activity
Your Mendoza wine tour starts with hotel pickup for the drive to your first winery of the day. Lasting roughly an hour, each winery visit includes personalized service, with in-depth explanations and generous tastings (own expense).
With your private guide, walk through the vineyards to discover the different steps of the winemaking process. Learn how freshly picked grapes are brought into the winery and selected by workers, and how after the leaves, bad grapes, and stems are removed, the best berries go through a second selection process before fermentation begins. If you travel in the main harvest period of February through April, you may be lucky enough to see this process in action.
How much you see, learn, or sip is up to you. If you prefer to go straight to the tastings, you can skip the explanations. The third winery visit ends in time for lunch, so if you want to add this on, just let your guide know. Lunch is typically a fixed menu and is eaten at the winery (own expense).
If time permits, finish up with a fourth winery visit before a drop-off at your hotel in the early evening.

Our driver was very friendly and flexible with the itinerary. He was able to make alternative plans on the fly when we determined that one or two of the wineries were not in the region we wanted to visit. The wineries we did visit were highly satisfactory. Our driver, Damian, also drove all the way back into Mendoza to return a phone I accidentally left behind. Very positive and I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in a Mendoza style wine drinking tour. It is important for visitors to realize that you will likely only visit three wineries with tours but the hospitality will be warm.
We had a fantastic tour with our guide Mauricio. He was not only knowledgeable, he took us to great wineries we would never have been able to find on our own. His local knowledge was great to have. I can't say enough positive things about Mauricio. Take this tour. You will love it.
