Merida – Uxmal (L) Set out by minivan to Uxmal, located about 48 miles (78 km) away.
Stop At: Zona Arqueologica Uxmal, Carretera Federal No. 261, Uxmal 97899 Mexico
Upon arrival, tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site with your guide, who will enlighten your small group about the distinctive architectonic style and decorative design of the buildings.
Explore the archaeological site, which is uniquely situated amid hills in the Puuc (Mayan for ‘mountain range’) region. This architectural marvel, reaching 115 feet (35 meters) skyward, is renowned for its precise construction and unrivaled beauty.
Visit the Nunnery Quadrangle and admire its magnificent friezes depicting owls, serpents and the Mayan rain god Chac. Learn about the significance of the façades and lower walls of its four buildings, each set at a different level around Uxmal's central plaza.

The tour was not the same as the description. We started the day at Kabah and then to Uxmal. kabah was supposed to be the second day. We did Kabah and Uxmal in one day and it was very difficult to do both. I did not book two sites on the same day for good reasons.The guide forgot to drop me to my Hotel in Uxmal and had to turn around and return to the Hotel. The light show was not included according to the hotel. Since there was no one there to escort me I did not get to see the light show. Very disappointing tour for 220.00USD. I did not get what I paid for.
This tour was more than I expected including my stay at Hacienda Uxmal!!!
