Day 1: Reception and transfer to the Hotel – Merida City Tour
Pass By: Merida Cathedral, Calle 61 on the east side of Plaza Grande, Merida 97000 Mexico
Reception and transfer to the Hotel
Stop At: Paseo de Montejo, Merida Mexico
We will discover Merida, founded on January 6, 1542 by the Spanish Francisco de Montejo, but the Mayas already had built a great city known as T’ho, long before the Spanish Colonization, the stones used in this ancient city were used to build the Cathedral located at the Zocalo where you could find the Montejo House, the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace. Merida, the White City with its main avenue “Paseo por Montejo”, which has beautiful colonial buildings, as the Canton Palace and the impressive “Monumento a la Patria” among other magnificent places. Day 2: Chichen Itza Archaeological Zone Tour.
Stop At: Merida, Chichen Itza 97751 Mexico
Dated with approximately 553 years old, this famous Mayan Pyramids are located between hour and half of distance. The name of Chichen Itza is derived by the Mayan words “Chi” mouth “Chen” Hole, “Itza” The name of the region. This site is divided in three areas, the north group (Toltec), central group (the early period) and the known as El Viejo Chichen (The old Chichen). We will be visiting the first two groups.
