This Franciscan convent was built in 1553 atop Pap-Hol-Chac (House of Thunder), which was the tallest pre-Columbian pyramid in the city.

VERY knowledgeable guide. My one frustration was the lack of opportunity to wander some of the side streets. The driver of the horse drawn carriage would not pause at interesting sites possibly because they could not do so within the half hour alloted for this activity.

First: the tour guide arrived on time. An applause for it. Augusto Tun was very friendly, patient, explaining everything in detail. I was the only one in the tour so I have my own exclusive guide. Izamal is a beautiful city, full of colors and history. We had lunch in a great place. It is a pity that Merida is mostly known for Chichen Itza when there are places as this one that should be promoted worldwide.
