About this activity
The tour begins with a pick-up near the cruise port (exact location arranged before departure) and returns to the same location. A climate-controlled vehicle will take you to the small, cliff-top town of Taormina to visit the Greek theater, Palazzo Corvaja, and the Cathedral. Take in the amazing view of Mount Etna and Giardini Naxos bay, and spend three hours exploring the town by yourself, before meeting at an established time and place for the drive back to Messina. The tour includes light refreshments and you will have time to purchase lunch in Taormina.
Next, embark on a city tour of Messina. See panoramic views of the Messina strait, the cathedral and the clock tower and at the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your port on time for the cruise-ship departure.

This ended up being a private excursion which was great. Taorimina was a cute little Italain town and fun to visit. Driver was very good - there were traffic issues on way back to Messina and he was in constant contact with other drivers and found us a better way back to town. Driver stopped in a few spots in Messina as well. Driver's spoke ok English.
