Coyoacan is one of the 16 boroughs of Mexico City as well as the former village which is now the borough’s “historic center.” The name comes from Nahuatl and most likely means “place of coyotes”

Visit the beautiful town of Coyoacan, considered a magical neighborhood with a bohemian atmosphere and full of stories famous for its galleries, crafts and Frida Kahlo’s home and Museum, Coyoacan is like diving into another age.

Visit the Blue House of Frida Kahlo (entrance fee not included) which belonged to her parents, and where she lived as a child . This house was inhabited by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera de1929 to 1954, here you can find some of her famous paintings, letters, and personal effects, which give us the creative context of this great Mexican painter. formal home of the artist became a museum in 1958, four years after her death; the house is located in one of the most beautiful and ancient neighborhoods of Mexico City.

Next head towards Xochimilco is a journey through the ancient canals and artificial islands created by the original peoples over 800 years ago, we sail aboard colorful boats known as “Trajineras”, there is no better way to be surrounded by the folklore of the people of Mexico, in an atmosphere of mariachis, nature, flowers and colors, Xochimilco is a place that has survived over the centuries and has adapted to the city, where nowadays is the favorite place for local and foreign visitors who want a Mexican experience.
