Road Trip of 8 Days by the Colonial Cities starting from Mexico City

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queretaro - City Tour / San Miguel de Allende.

Stop At: Historic Center of Santiago de Queretaro, Queretaro City 76000 Mexico
We will depart from Mexico City to Queretaro.

Visit Queretaro City, World Heritage City, where we will visit the Aqueduct, El Ex-Convento de la Cruz, Historic Downtown.

Stop At: Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, North side of El Jardin, San Miguel de Allende 37700 Mexico
We will follow our journey in San Miguel de Allende, this pacific city will amazed you, here once lived the great comedian “Cantinflas” among other great celebrities from artist to intellectuals. The main attractions here are La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, La Capilla de Santa Casa, San Francisco Church and Allende Institute House. This place counts with a great variety of Coffees shops and restaurant to choose.

Day 2: Transfer to Dolores Hidalgo – Transfer to Guanajuato - City Tour.

Stop At: Parroquia Nuestra Senora de los Dolores, Plaza Principal S/N, Zona Centro, Dolores Hidalgo 37800 Mexico
We will depart to Dolores Hidalgo, cradle of Mexican Independence, we will visit the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Dolores and the House-Museum of the Priest Hidalgo, (Father of the Homeland).

Stop At: Juarez Theater (Teatro Juarez), Sopena S/N Jardin de la Union, Guanajuato 36000 Mexico
We will continue our trip to Guanajuato. By the afternoon we will enjoy this beautiful and homely city full of alleys, tunels and squares. We will know many interesting places like the Alhondiga de Granaditas, The Juarez Theatre, The Valencian Mine, the Kiss Alley, La Univesidad, and the House-Museum of Diego Rivera.

Day 3: Transfer to Zacatecas - City Tour.

Stop At: Catedral de Zacatecas, Avenida Hidalgo 617, Zacatecas 98000 Mexico
We will visit el Cerro de la Bufa, where its panoramic view will shows us Zacatecas with its beautiful facades in pink quarry, we will descend in Cableway and visit the Mina del Eden; also we will admire the Government Palace, Santo Domingo Temple and the Cathedral, its facade will impress with its baroque art and mexican "churrigueresco". Day 4: Transfer to Guadalajara - City Tour.

Stop At: Guadalajara Cathedral, Av Alcalde 10 Zona Centro, Guadalajara 44100 Mexico
Departure to the impressing Guadalajara City, Home of the Mariachi and Tequila, 2 characteristics that globally distinguish Mexico. We will visit Tlaquepaque, a neighbourhood distinguished by the fabrication of crafts like pottery, textile and blown glass, where we can visit the famous Sergio Bustamante Gallery. Rest of the afternoon is free in Guadalajara.

Day 5: Visit Tequila, Jalisco.

Stop At: Destileria La Rojena, Calle Jose Cuervo Labastida #73, Tequila 46400 Mexico
We will leave Guadalajara to visit the famous town of Tequila, the land of agave. We will take a walk through its streets with a City Tour. Later we will visit “La Rojeña” distillery of Jose Cuervo, to presence and learn about the process of Tequila, at the end of this visit we will have a tasting of this Mexican liquor.

Day 6: Patzcuaro City Tour – Transfer to Morelia.

Stop At: Lake Patzcuaro, Mexico
We will depart to Patzcuaro, located at the edges of the Patzcuaro Lake, of charming colonial architecture, vibrant local markets and a village atmosphere, this place will delight with its unique customs. We will visit the gigant Major Square, surrounded by its XVII mansions with its central fountain and the statue of Quiroga: The Gertudris Square, Bocanegra and its colorful market. The Basilica de Nuestra Señora de la Salud and the House of the Eleven Patios. We could walk though the quiet streets and squares or enjoy the afternoon at some coffe shops or restaurant.

Day 7: Morelia City Tour – Return to Mexico City.

Stop At: Centro Historico de Morelia, Morelia Mexico
We will continue this adventure to Morelia, declared World Heritage that's because is one of the maximum exponent of the colonial architecture in the continent, Morelia will delight us with its Cathedrla, Goverment Palace, the Clavijero Palace, The Major Square, The Aqueduct and the Market of dulces tipicos. Return to Mexico City.

Day 8: Xochimilco, Coyoacan and Frida Kahlo Museum.

Stop At: Floating Gardens of Xochimilco, Southern neighborhood of Xochimilco, Mexico City Mexico
Start your day walking though the wonderful neighborhood of Coyoacan, appreciate its mansions of the XVI century and the San Juan Bautista Church. In the same neighborhood we will visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, known as "La Casa Azul" wherethe most recognized latinoamerican artist lived.

Later, we will visit Xochimilco, Human Heritage, where we could enjoy of a lovely tour in a “Trajinera”.
