About this activity
After your pick up from your hotel or your cruise ship(*), we will depart in the morning at 10:30 a.m. or in the afternoon at 16.30 starting from the old port of Mykonos, to enjoy the tour around the island from a different point of view, full of traditional and authentic images and experiences. Our first stop will be at a very well known site which all the island's visitors must see, in order to capture a panoramic Mykonos Town photo shooting. Following the picture taking we will visit the picturesque small port of St. Ioannis, an area which was named after a small church dedicated to Saint Ioannis and one of great historical significance. We will visit the church, along with the Saint's cell where the annual fair in his name is also being held. The small port in front of us is the starting point of the local fishing boats which are protected here from the island's strong north winds.

Right afterwards we will depart towards the Mykonos' airport, where we will have a panoramic view of the airport's runway and perhaps we are lucky enough to catch a plane taking off or landing. Leaving the airport behind us, we will be headed towards Ano Mera Village and pass through one entirely different scenery, one of the island's most typical agricultural and stock raising areas, where we will observe small local cultivated fields and even some domestic animals in local family owned farms.

After capturing all these images of Mykonian countryside and its lifestyle, we will reach the farm of the Mykonian Spiti, where we will be guided by our escort and always under the directions of the farm's superintendent. Whoever wishes may also use the farm's tools and get involved with the farming work and tasks in co-operation with the superintendent. Take this opportunity to get closer to the domestic animals and the farm's traditional organic cultivation. A light snack lunch will be offered to all visitors, consisting of local products from the traditional farm itself.

Next we will head towards the Ano Mera village's colorful square, where one of the island's two monasteries is located ("Panagia Tourliani") and we will be guided through its chambers. You can also take a glimpse at the nearby open air market with vegetables and other local products .

As we continue our tour, we will be passing by some of the most distant beaches of Mykonos, named "Kalo Livadi", "Kalafati" and "Aghia Anna". Our next destination will be the abandoned establishment of the now inoperative mines of Mykonos. Until some years ago useful lignite was extracted here from the soil to be used in various ways. Up next we will reach the beautiful narrow streets of Mau, at the end of which the Mykonos dam is located, constructed to meet the needs of the island in water.

At the end of the tour we will drive you back to your hotel or a location of your choice.

We had six different tours on our cruise port of calls and this was by far the worst one. The van was late picking up our group. It had a distorted sound system where you couldn't make out what was being talked about. No air conditioning. The driver left with the vehicle stranding us for a while. If it was just the tour guide on a private walking tour it would have been great, she was informative, upbeat and charming

This was a perfectly designed cultural tour. Our excellent guide Gibson was knowledgeable, and personable. He ensured a good time for all, and we learned about the island its inhabitants and cultural traditions.

We had a group of seven traveling to Mykonos with two pick up points. We were greeted on time at both locations. Our tour guide Anastasia was phenomenal. She was funny, engaging and knowledgeable. She kept our attention from beginning to end. The tour was fantastic.

A bit hard to find our tour guide, but once we did, it was fabulous. Our guide was of course from the region and was very knowledgeable. The farm tour was fun, and the owners very hospitable and the mini meal they served with fresh tomatoes and cheese and stuffed grape leaves was so fresh and delicious. (Be sure you have each others' phone info in case you can't quickly find your guide.)

Great way to see Mykonos from the eyes of a local. The farm was the best part and lunch was superb. So fresh, from the garden. Only regret was not seeing the popular shopping destination

Our guide, Anastasia, made the trip very enjoyable! We were treated to a more extensive view of Mykonos and the stop at the farm for a snack of local fresh food and drink ( with Greek dancing afterwards) made it very fun and personal . We were all very pleased. Thanks so much to Anastasia and our driver, George!

I was on a cruise and took several tours - this tour, by far, was my favorite!! When my cruise ship pulled in to port in Mykonos, we were not in the port that we were expected to be in - and where I was to meet my tour guide. Someone on the cruise ship called the tour and explained my situation and they said not to worry about it, they would meet me where I was - which was great! There were 6 of us touring Mykonos in a van - we toured the tourist areas of the island - stopped in several areas for photo ops - and then toured the farmland - where the residents are. We had a wonderful meal at the home of a local farmer, toured the farm - animals, herbs, fruit, vegetables - all locally grown. The tour guide, Anastasia, was extremely knowledgeable and fun! She told us about the history of Mykonos, explaining much of the culture - and gladly answering questions - I highly recommend this tour!

This tour is appropriately named. We saw almost all of the island and not just the traditional sea port picture of beautiful white houses. Anastasia was our guide and she did a marvelous job of ensuring we had an overview of the island. We stopped at a countryside farmhouse to experience the rural life, as well as the best beach views. Our group was small and the mini coach we traveled in was super comfortable. There was a nice mix of walk and ride and plenty of information of Mykonos. The tour was probably a 5 star in quality but I didn't leave it wanting to tell everyone they missed out on an awesome day. Maybe I had too much time with the animals on the farm.

Our tour guide, Kayla, was fantastic! As a young couple- we wanted time to explore Mykonos and this tour was everything we wanted and more! We got a chance to visit the best beaches, pet donkeys, and see some great views with time to shop! One of the best investments we’ve made.

Enjoyable driving tour, and a way to see the non-tourist part of the island. Very narrow roads, so happy to have someone else driving. Stops were not particularly exciting, but we saw everything the island had to offer. A good way to get way from the tourist and cruise line crowds and see a more relaxed Mykonos.

This is a very different tour. You will get a perspective of the usual tourists vistas of Mykonos, and then you will see a farm and pet the donkeys, visit a small village and monastery, see a water-storage reservoir, a small church, and a beach. If you want to learn about the island apart from the jet-set villas, this is a good tour.
