About this activity
Chora is situated on the Western coast of Mykonos island. Undoubtedly one of the most charming in the Aegean. One can admire numerous little chapels, windmills, dovecotes as well as captains and fishermen houses. Tourism has changed the use of some of its buildings today, turned into shops and workshops. A charming and ambient labyrinth of about 500 stores including restaurants and taverns, bistros and bakeries, bars and clubs are unrolling in front of you. Needless to mention how difficult that would have been for a short time visitor to find his way through.

Your guide is your living GPS during this tour!

In about 3 hours not only you will be shown the famous monuments but also you will be given the opportunity to discover some of the “hidden gems” of the Chora of Mykonos. Pastry shops, workshops, 17th century hidden underground bakery are only some of the places you will visit during this tour, while your Tour Guide will be shedding light on how all these shops affected the islands trading life from the beginning of the 19th century up to now. Needless to say that you will of course visit the highlights of the Chora, such as the windmills, or the famous Paraportiani chappel right on where the ancient fortifications of the town of Mykonos were standing in the past.

Tour includes: Tourist guide services. A (really) full meal with appetizers, salad, main dish and dessert. Eat like no other visitor! Monuments-culture and architecture, local cuisine-gastronomy, hidden corners-workshops.

Met at the square, got a short talk about Mykonos and the. Our first stop was Greek coffee right by our starting point. Then right around the corner was a yummy Greek almond cookie. We also got a bottle of water and a taste of a pistachio from the store owner. Then we started really walking and seeing the old town. We saw the windmills and walking through the winding streets. Wasn’t really sure where I was, but I do think we walked in circles, because I did recognize some places. We also stopped at the oldest bakery Cheese, potato and spinach pie from the oldest bakery in Mykonos. Cloras Wood Bakery, and we got a spinach pie, a cheese pie and a surprise addition of a potatoe pie. We asked some more and ended up at Raya for dinner where our guide left us and the group had dinner together. There were 9 of us and had great conversation. Dinner was: a glass of wine, beer or coke and water; Greek salad served family style, zuchinni fries to share and then everyone got a plate with a large piece of moussaka and the. Fruit platters came out to share. It was a lot of food for the evening. The dinner was extra delightful because of the company. You got to see everything in old town in this tour. Would recommend. Wear good walking shoes. You walk up hill, down hill, and all over.
