Crypt of Leonardo and San Sepolcro Church

Make your own way to central Milan for your visit to San Sepolcro Church and its crypt. Set in Piazza San Sepolcro, the church is just a short walk from Milan’s famous Piazza del Duomo. 

Armed with your entrance ticket, you’ll head inside the 19th-century church, admiring its neo-Romanesque front as you go. Discover what remains of the earlier monument, which dates back to the 11th century, and learn why Leonardo da Vinci placed the church in the center of the city when he drew a bird’s-eye map of Milan. 

After exploring above ground, head to the basement. Off limits to the public for nearly half a century, the crypt that lies beneath the church is home to a wealth of treasure. Amble across a stone floor that hails from the Roman Forum, and admire a remarkable copy of Christ’s tomb, surrounded by frescoes. 

How long you spend inside the church and crypt is up to you. Both are open until 8pm.
