About this activity
The Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci is located in the old refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. The painting represents the scene of the Last Supper of Jesus with his apostles, and portrays the reaction of each apostle when Jesus said one of them would betray him. Leonardo invented his own painting technique to be able to work slowly, and to perfect every detail. This new technique made the mural extremely fragile and its deterioration ensued. Over the past five hundred years the painting’s condition has been seriously compromised by a combination of location, materials and techniques used, humidity and tourists. Early restoration attempts only made it worse. Finally, in 1980, a 19-year restoration began, the painting was ultimately restored, but it lost much of its original paint along the way.Because of the Last Supper's poor condition and delicate nature, the entrance quota is very tight. Only one small group is allowed to stand with the painting for a maximum of 15 minutes in an air-conditioned room. Tickets are very limited and hard to come by.

The Last Supper by DaVinci is considered one of the greatest paintings of all times. This tour not only provided me the opportunity to view the painting but also included an excellent discussion about the painting. If you are unable to obtain tickets online (they sell out very fast) this is a very good option.
Donatella was a fantastic guide and very informative very knowledgeable and interesting guide. Would definitely recommend booking with Viator.
This was a wonderful experience, if a little short which we understand is necessary due to the numbers wishing to view it. Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and able to impart a huge amount of information in the short period available.
Booked a Last Supper tour with Viator, firstly they booked me in on the wrong day, they booked the tour for our party of 4 the day before we arrived in Milan, so we missed it. Then when we tried to telephone or contact Viator to tell them of their mistake, we could not get through. It was a total disaster. I will never use Viator again, and will make sure everyone is informed of their unprofessionalism, and their very bad service.
This tour was taken on June 23, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Our tour guide was Valeria A. (from History Group). I was extremely impressed by this tour thanks to our enthusiastic, competent, professional guide Valeria from whom I learned a lot. So, I want to thank Valeria for sharing her vast knowledge with us. Needless to say, this tour is highly recommended and I would like to take the same tour again or any other tours with Valeria (as a tour guide); I know I will not be disappointed. Grazie mille, Valeria, for your excellent presentation of this wonderful, memorable, unforgettable tour which was one of the highlights of my visit to Milan.
