Spumante Wine Tour + Bergamo from Milan: Private Tour
Let our minivan come to pick you up directly from your hotel in Milan.
After about 1 h. drive, we will reach Bergamo city.
Its oldest part ( città alta - upper town) has been grounded on the top of a hill, completely surrounded by the ancient walls, from where you have a spectacular view over the Po-plane. There is also downhill the second part of the city (città bassa - lower town), where the important economical heart of the city is pulsating.
During the visit accompanied by a specialized guide, we will concentrate our attention on the upper town, feeling the experience of living in a middle-aged city with outstanding buildings and magnificent squares. We won't miss spectacular spectacular views over the Po-plane and the visit of the main monuments, including Santa Maria Maggiore church and Colleoni Chapel.
In the early afternoon, after free time for lunch, we will move on the minivan to the wine region called Franciacorta, very famous in Italy and all over Europe for the production of Spumante Wine (equivalent of Champagne, but even better!).
In Franciacorta, an area that boast more then 130 wine producers, we will visit two different wineries: an industrial-scale one, where we'll have a look at the different steps of the production of wines, from harvest to bottling, and a smaller one ruled by a family where we will feel more the passion for the tradition and the territory.
In both the wineries we will get a full taste of different wines produced (Franciacorta metodo classico) - including biological wines, we will take a walk into the vineyards and, if lucky, having a chat with local winemakers...
