Villa del Balbianello, one of the most spectacular villas of the entire lake, stands at the end of a green promontory that stretches towards the center of the lake. You will reach the villa on foot along a pleasant path of about 30 minutes that winds through the Mediterranean vegetation of the promontory. The Villa, which can only be visited on specific occasions, offers unique landscapes and rare feelings. You will learn about the men and the stories behind this artistic asset protected by the Italian Environment Fund.
After the visit we will embark from Lenno to Bellagio, where there will be the lunch break. In the afternoon, with a pleasant short walk along the lake, you will reach Villa Melzi, which with its gardens will make you love, if you still need it, this enchanting lake even more. The gardens that surround the villa are in fact among the most renowned in the area, and boast numerous azaleas and gigantic rhododendrons, enclosing small spaces such as the hidden cave or the artificial pond in Japanese style. The Villa Melzi gardens also have many exotic and rare plants which alternate with secular trees, big camellia hedges, and many other species of plants. The return to Milan is scheduled in late afternoon.
