Itinerary

Day 1: MOMBASA – LAMU

Stop At: Lamu Old Town, Lamu Island Kenya
Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Mombasa Airport where you will catch your flight for Lamu airstrip. On arrival you will sail on a boat or a dhow to Lamu Island. You can choose to walk or ride a donkey to your hotel where you will check in for lunch (there are no cars in Lamu Island). Spend the rest of the day in your hotel where you can choose to enjoy the white sandy beaches of Lamu. Accommodation and dinner at Lamu Palace hotel.

Day 2: FULL DAY IN LAMU

Stop At: Lamu Old Town, Lamu Island Kenya
After breakfast take a dhow safari through to other islands. Enjoy a cruise tour which is totally tranquil and romantic. Discover the mangrove bushes and different types of birds from the dhow; see a clear view of Shela village and Lamu town from the Takwa channel. For the photographers this is the best opportunity to take photos shoot of the marvelous views. You can also spend the day snorkeling and swimming. You will enjoy the lunch in the dhow or even in the beautiful white beaches of Lamu. Dinner and accommodation at Lamu Palace hotel.

Day 3: LAMU MUSEUM, GERMANY POST OFFICE, SWAHILI HOUSE

Stop At: Lamu Museum, Lamu Island Kenya
After breakfast you can ride on a donkey or walk through the narrow streets of old town to Lamu Museum. Lamu museum. This is as good a gateway as you’ll get into Swahili culture and that of the archipelago in particular. Later on you will walk or ride to Germany Post Office. This is the first post-office in Lamu. Later on you will visit the Swahili house. This is a traditional rich Swahili house that was abandoned by a rich merchant and was later taken by the Kenya Museum Authority and renovated. You will also visit the Lamu market and the donkey sanctuary. You will have lunch during the trip. Dinner and accommodation at Lamu Palace hotel.

Day 4: LAMU ISLAND - MOMBASA

Stop At: Lamu Old Town, Lamu Island Kenya
After breakfast you can walk along to beach and enjoy some beautiful morning swimming. You will then sail to Manda airstrip after lunch and checking out from your hotel to catch the afternoon flight. You will then fly back to Mombasa where you will be transferred to your hotel or your place of choice.
