About this activity
The Dhow Dinner Cruise starts at 6.30pm, enjoy a welcome "Dawa" cocktail as the Dhow sets sail towards Fort Jesus.
Your evening begins as soon as you step off the gangplank. You will be greeted by traditionally-dressed waiters and waitresses who show you to your table, and serves you with a house cocktail made with vodka, lime, honey, sugar and crushed ice. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available. The live band will start playing as soon as the dhow departs from the jetty and many guests start dancing straight away.
The cruise will continue around the Tudor Creek with fine view of Mombasa's Old Town and Fort Jesus. The dhow will moor in a sheltered bay in preparation for dinner. The aroma of grilled lobster and steak will fill the air as the chefs prepare a four course gourmet meal. As your meal draws to a close, the waiters serve aromatic Arabica coffee from a traditional Arab brass pot - the Kahawa Pot. The evening trip on the dhow is an excellent romantic spot for newly-weds, and those wishing to propose, before returning to the start point.
