Pass By: Runaway Bay, Jamaica
This tour takes you through one of the most popular towns on the Island. Runaway Bay is naturally beautiful and is certainly one of the most scenic areas in Jamaica. It sits between the beautiful, crisp coastline to one side and the lush green mountains to the other. There is much debate as to how the town of Runaway Bay got its name. some people believe it got the name because that is where the last batch of Spanish soldiers ran away from when they were retreating from the attacking British Troops lead by Governor Ysassi right after the 1655 British invasion of Jamaica, while other argue that it was the point from which the Slaves from inland plantations used as an escape route to runaway to Cuba. Get your cameras ready to go as you make your way through this area.
Stop At: Columbus Park Museum, Jamaica
The town of Discovery Bay is where you will find Columbus Park. It was originally named Puerto Seco (“Dry Harbour”) by Christopher Columbus in 1494 when he and his men landed on the Island. It is said that could not find fresh water to drink. They later found fresh water in another area about 5 miles west of the town. The water was so good that they named the location where it was found Rio Bueno (“Good River”). However, the town of Puerto Seco was later renamed in 1947 to Discovery Bay because Discovery Bay is where the Spanish, lead by Christopher Columbus landed when they invaded the Island on May 4, 1494. There is a park with several old relics and artifacts on display. There will be a brief stop to take photos and capture the rich history of this historic town.

Stop At: Blue Hole, Ocho Rios Jamaica
After the scenic drive you will head to Cool Blue Hole and Secret Falls just in time to meet your knowledgeable guide who will be your best friend for the next two hours until the end of the activity. Hidden on the border of Saint Ann and Saint Mary Parishes up in the mountains and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy towns is where you find this unspoiled, untouched rare gem. The Cool Blue Hole oasis offers an array of natural beauty and electrifying fun. Take in the gorgeous, bright blue water in the natural mineral pool surrounded by lush, tropical rain-forest. Have a blast jumping off the edge into the deep pool, swinging on Tarzan ropes or swimming up under the caves. Then, there will be a 5-minute hike through the woods to the amazing Secret Falls. You are in “awe” as you make your way through the magnificent, lush green vegetation up to the Secret Falls. There you can allow the cascading waters to hug you while you take amazing photo shots. Feel free to take lots of photos on this tour. Independent professional photographers are available to take photos at a cost however, if you prefer to take your own feel free to do so at your own risk.

Shopping in Ocho Rios on this day trip will be at the Taj Mahal Shopping Center. A wide variety of items are available in this one area. Items includes rums, coffee, T-shirts, hats, jewelry, Harley D products, etc. however, since this is a private tour where you get to call the shots, you have the choice of requesting or have dialogue with your tour guide to take you to other shopping spots within that geographical location.
Lunch stop at Scotchies
Scotchies Outdoor Garden Restaurant is undoubtedly the best jerk chicken and pork spots you can find anywhere. We recommend that you cap off your day’s activities with a stop for the ultimate jerk experience at Scotchies. Our driver Marlon was great, On our ride from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios he was a combination driver and tour guide. While we were all at the Blue Hole and Secret Falls, he stayed at the vehicle to safeguard our belongings. Our guides Tyrone and Akeem were also excellent making sure everyone was safe on the trails and slippery rocks. My only disappointment with this excursion was that it did not go to Scotchies as it stated in the description of the tour. We went to a restaurant called Tracks and Records which is affiliated with Usain Bolt, either through ownership or licensing. The only reason we chose this excursion over the many other tour companies that go to the Blue Hole was because it specifically listed Scotchies as the lunch stop. Viator should remove Scotchies from the description otherwise it borders on false advertising. Unfortunately, this was our last full day on the Island, so we never got to check out this world famous spot.
Blue hole and secret falls are in the same location but walking distance apart. Two separate jumps which was fun. The shopping was just a store next to the restaurant.
This was a great day trip! The waterfall was not over crowded with tourist and we got to swim in the Blue Hole by ourselves for at least a half hour before we decided to climb the falls.
Awesome trip with the best driver Marlin! Choose Blue Hole over Dunns River Falls. I've done both and enjoyed this so much more. Climb to the top of 3 different water falls then either jump or rope swing into the blue holes back to the bottom. Marlin was the perfect driver for this day trip. He was full of info and wonderful at getting to know us, too!!

This was by far the greatest experience my husband and I ever had in Jamaica!!! We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon 5 years ago, this June we went for our 5 year anniversary. This is WAY better than Dunns falls, the short hike through the jungle was absolutely beautiful. The water is STUNNING with how bright it is. The falls are beautiful and the local tour guides were so fun! We had a slight mishap with our guide from Jamaica Action Routes, he ended up at the wrong resort but actually called around to the sister resorts to find us. I was so worried when our ride was late but when he told us of the confusion I was pleased that he took the time to call around and find us! He was so great and knew so much history about the island and pointed out awesome things along the way. He even picked me up a coconut to drink and eat! His name was Vinton Ashman, I highly recommend him! But back to Blue Hole, it's a MUST SEE!!!!
