Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive and Dine

Stop At: Montepulciano
A member of our team will reach out to you in advance of the trip to arrange transportation from the Florence Airport to the villa (additional fees apply). Upon arrival at the villa, you can explore the area or relax by the pool. During dinner at the villa you can sip on a selection of local wines and get to know your fellow travelers.
Duration: 12 hours

• Dinner: Our Italian nonna will prepare a traditional, 3-course Tuscan meal to welcome you to Italy, accompanied by local wines.
Accommodation included: A beautiful private villa outside of Montepulciano. Rooms are en-suite and the villa is equipped with a lovely pool.

Day 2: Relax in Bagno Vignoni & Cook with a Local

Stop At: Terme Bagno Vignoni, Bagno Vignoni, Tuscany
Following breakfast at the villa, we will take you on a driving tour through the heart of Tuscany to the ancient town to Bagno Vignoni. From here, you have the option to take a hike through the Tuscan hills around the village or spend the morning soaking in hot spring fed pools and relaxing in a Roman Sauna at the Albergo Le Terme Spa. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore Bagno Vignoni and grab lunch at an osteria or wine bar.

• Dinner: When we return to the villa, you can participate in a cooking class led by a local chef & enjoy the results for dinner!

Day 3: Explore Assisi & Dine at La Porta

Stop At: Assisi
Following breakfast at the villa, we will drive you to the picturesque hill town of Assisi. An experienced local tour guide will take you on a walking tour of the city and lead you through the magnificent Basilica of Saint Francis. You’ll have the afternoon free to wander the ancient streets on your own. In the evening, we'll head to the quaint town of Monticchiello for a dinner at the celebrated restaurant, Osteria de La Porta.

Day 4: Taste the Wines of Tuscany

Stop At: Fortezza di Montalcino, Montalcino, Tuscany
Have you always wanted to do a wine tasting in Italy? Well, you’re in luck as no trip to Tuscany would be complete without a visit to a winery! You’ll start the day with a tour and wine tasting at the renowned Tenute Silvio Nardi. After sampling the estate’s excellent Rosso and Brunello, enjoy lunch at the winery. Then we’ll head to the quaint town of Montalcino where you can shop and walk off all that fabulous vino or duck into a tasting room and to keep the buzz going. The evening will conclude with dinner in the Enoteca la Fortezza, which is located within a medieval castle. The expert sommeliers will lead us through another Tuscan wine tasting as we enjoy our meal. You'll have the opportunity to climb to the top of the fortress to enjoy a fabulous view of the sun setting over town.

• Dinner: Dinner with beautifully paired wines will be enjoyed at Enoteca la Fortezza, inside a medieval castle in Montalcino.
• Lunch: Enjoy an al fresco lunch with wine looking out over the gorgeous Sangiovese vines at Silvio Nardi.

Day 5: Experience Orvieto

Stop At: Duomo di Orvieto, Orvieto, Province of Terni, Umbria
After breakfast, we’ll drive you to the charming hill town of Orvieto where a local guide will show you the best sights of the Medieval town including the stunning cathedral, St. Patrick’s well, and more. Following the tour, you’ll have some time to shop and explore the town on your own.

• Dinner: Enjoy a selection of local cheese and charcuterie and a home cooked meal upon returning to the villa.

Day 6: Visit a Sheep Farm to taste Pecorino Cheese & then Hike (or ride) to Pienza

Stop At: Historic Centre of the City of Pienza, Tuscany
Get a taste (literally and figuratively) of the vast world of Italian cheese! You’ll visit a working farm that produces a range of luscious Pecorino (sheep milk cheese) as well as extra virgin olive oil. Afterwards, take a hike through the surrounding hills (optional), ending in the lovely town of Pienza. The day will conclude with dinner on your own in Montepulciano. The Euro travel coach team can assist with reservations.

• Lunch: Following a tour of the farm, you’ll sample 8 different raw milk cheeses and enjoy a three course lunch, with wine.

Day 7: Discover Siena

Stop At: Duomo di Siena, Siena, Tuscany
After breakfast, we’ll drive you to the medieval city of Siena. A local guide will help you get oriented to the city, point out the Gothic architecture, and show you the many spiritual and secular monuments which sit in harmony in the historic center of Siena. Afterwards, you’ll be free to shop and see the sights on your own.

• Dinner: In the evening, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner back at the villa, accompanied by beautiful local wines.

Day 8: Return Home

Stop At: Montepulciano
If you’re anything like the Euro Travel Coach team, you will be sad to leave the sun kissed hills of Tuscany. We’ll make it as easy on you as possible by preparing a farewell brunch (depending on your flight time) and assisting you with arranging a transfer to the Florence airport (additional fees apply). Once you’re at the airport, you can start planning your next trip to Italy!!!
