Towers and Ramparts of Aigues-Mortes

About this activity
Climb up Saint Louis’ Keep and take a walk around the medieval fortifications of Aigues-Mortes. Once a port and then a prison, you can explore the medieval town's fortifications and see what life was like way back in the 13th century.
You'd half expect a man in a doublet and hose to gallop into Aigues-Mortes; the place looks a lot like it did in the Middle Ages.
Stroll around and explore inside the defensive ramparts. See the gothic Notre-Dame-des-Sablons church, built in the 13th century and then used as a grain warehouse. Walk along the Grande Rue Jean Jaurès, grab a drink in a café or explore the shops as you head to the middle of the walled town.
See the main square - Place Saint-Louis - and its fountain with four dolphins, plus a statue of Saint-Louis himself. There's much to see in this storied place, so get ready to make some medieval magic!
