About this activity
Over the years Montreal has held a reputation as a city that loves to eat, and eat well. A trip to the Jean-Talon Market helps the outsider grasp the fact that farm-to-table is nothing new in town. On this food tour, you'll sample regional delicacies and meet the producers who take pride in the quality and distinction of their harvest.

Strolling through the city streets, you'll gain a better understanding of why diversity is synonymous with Montreal. The Vietnamese neighbor the Italians and further east the Latinos share the streets with the Maghrebis. Sit down for a full-flavored tasting at the city’s favorite Salvadorian hole-in-the-wall.

The Mile-Ex district is a peculiar part of town that has boomed in recent years, and it's here where young entrepreneurs are reshaping the local culinary scene. Savor the newest craft brews and learn about the progressive coffee renaissance one sip at a time.

Conclude your tour at the doorstep of Little Italy. Enjoy some comfort food with your new friends and set off on your own adventure with a list of your guide's favorite local food spots.

My husband and I loved this tour—Danny took us to some unexpected places, and the best part was that he explained the particular back stories of each restaurant/vendor (rather than just talking about the food itself). It was a glimpse into the history and culture of the city as it is now, not just a fossilized version of what we think of as Québécois cuisine. The stops were nicely varied, with just a couple of larger plates interspersed among small samples, so we were satisfied but not overly full by the end. Merci à Danny!

My daughter and I really enjoyed this tour. Not only did we visit many vendors in the Market and restaurants in the area, but our tour guide provided lots of information on the area and took us off the beaten path. You could tell that he was very knowledgeable and not giving us an everyday generic tour. I was pleasantly surprised by all the tours we did during our trip to Montreal and Quebec City.

This is a most interesting tour as we walked through such diverse neighborhoods compared with the old town area where we are staying. We loved our guide, Amelie!

This was an awesome introduction to side of Montreal that I would’ve never seen otherwise. The tour guide was amazing and knew everything about this emerging scene.

This was a great food tour and one my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. Danny, our guide, took us to some small food cafes and bars as well as the markets in the Jean-Talon area as well as the last mile and mile ex areas. Some were well established, others were start ups and Danny provided the background behind each one. The samples in the park from the Dinnete Triple Crown were a great way to end the tour. It was also nice to be given a cheat sheet at the end of the tour on where we had been and some further recommendations. We would highly recommend this tour to anybody interested in some of the more unique dining experiences that you don't see in guidebooks.

That was an amazing best experience in Montreal. Our fantastic guide Francine was so informative and took us to so many places all different kinds of food and culture, land scape, architecture, all sorts of aspect to lean about Montreal, I felt like I had 7 course dinner with beer, desert even coffee and she even took us to lovely picnic at the park in the neiborhood. It was totally worth it. We'll walk quite a bit, so wear comfortable shoes

Bring your appetite and a good pair of walking shoes for a fun and informative couple of hours tasting and learning about the different foods of Montreal. You will not be disappointed.
