Stop At: Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal), Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal), Montreal, Quebec

With its cobbled streets, charming buildings and rich French heritage, Old Montreal is home to some of the most delectable French patisseries and boutique food shops. On this food walking tour, follow your local guide to these specialty shops, many of which are housed in old factories and showrooms from the 19th century.

As you walk down the narrow and winding streets of Old Montreal, your professional tour guide will feed your hunger for knowledge about the history of Montreal and its many culinary pleasures. Along the way, you will learn about the native French's influence on Montreal's culinary traditions and how the World Expo in 1967, held in Montreal, brought exotic food to Montreal's tables.

Some of the items you will sample throughout the tour include a pastry with coffee, pâtés, smoked meat, macaroons, and more. This is the perfect tour for any foodie!

The walking tour was interesting and provided tastes of foods unique to Montreal. Stops were quick with not enough time to consider a beverage stronger than water as an accompaniment to the delicacy being enjoyed.

Excellent food and lots of it. Great history lesson of the area. Our guide was an actual chef with great knowledge of the niche restaurants in the area.

Camille, our guide, was terrific. She was knowledgeable, energetic, and fun. However, out of the five tastings included in this tour three were desserts. There is so much good food in Montreal I wish the tour would offer a greater variety of tastings. I loved the guide, but was disappointed in the offerings.

Myself and 4 girlfriends were visiting from New Jersey and decided to do this tour. At first, I was skeptical to book because of some of the reviews but I decided to book anyway, hope for the best, and we were all SO GLAD we did! First of all, our group was late due to traffic. I got a phone call from the organizer of the tour saying this was not a problem at all. She proceeded to text me the address of the first stop and to catch up with the guide there. Frederic was our guide and he was fantastic. We tasted all sorts of goodies and even stopped at landmarks in the Old City to learn a bit about the history and culture of Montreal. At the conclusion of the tour, we asked Frederic for some recommendations- he had so many for us, we were thrilled! I finished the tour feeling satisfied, not full, and with a new found love for the French influence of the cuisine in Montreal! For anyone who is skeptical, give it a shot! It is a tasting tour so you're not meant to be super full after but you will get to try a variety of interesting foods! 10/10 and merci beaucoup, Frederic!

Gabriel was fantastic as our tour guide, You could tell that he would make a great history teacher. His insight into Montreal history was so engrossing. The food was good but not great. There were too many people on the tour as it was Labor Day weekend. Twenty people in each group was too many for the small restaurants.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was a very very cold day so it would have been good to change it up and have a hot drink along the way and a longer stop inside...overall a very good experience. Loved the smoked meat sandwich.
