Red Square - the most famous square in Moscow, architectural and historical monument, which, together with the Kremlin is a symbol of the Russian capital. In 1990, the complex of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square were included in the list of world cultural composition Heritage by UNESCO.
Red Square originated in the late 15th century. In 1493, to stop the constant fires, Ivan III ordered to clean the walls of the Kremlin from the propped up their wooden buildings, and on the east side to arrange a big market.
In Soviet times, the Red Square gained new, sacred to the state values. It began to carry out major country parades and demonstrations, including the Victory Parade June 24, 1945 Mr .. In 1930, the square was designed by architect Shchusev was built of granite Mausoleum of VI Lenin.

St. Basil's Cathedral is not only the main temple of the Red Square, but also a symbol of all Russia. It was built in 1555–1561 by order of Ivan the Terrible in honor of the capture of the Kazan Khanate. The storming of Kazan began on October 1, 1552, on the Feast of the Protection of the Mother of God, therefore the “official” name of the temple is the Church of the Protection of the Mother of God.
The cathedral is a symmetrical ensemble of eight churches surrounding the central church, topped with a tent. Each of the eight churches is named after the saint, on whose day this or that significant event of the Kazan campaigns of Ivan the Terrible took place. There are nine iconostases in the cathedral, in which there are about 400 icons of the XVI – XIX centuries.
The architects who built the cathedral, the chronicle indicates some Barma and Postnik Yakovlev. However, there is a theory that in fact there was one master, Ivan Yakovlevich Barma, nicknamed Postnik for adherence to a strict post. There is a famous legend that, having seen a wonderful temple, Ivan the Terrible ordered to blind the masters so that they would not repeat their masterpiece anywhere else. But this is rather a myth, as Postnik’s name is later found in the annals in connection with the creation of other remarkable architectural monuments.

The existing walls and towers of the Kremlin were erected during the reign of Grand Duke Ivan III, from 1485-1495, under the supervision of the Italian architects Antonio Gilardi, Marco Ruffo, Pietro Antonio Solari, and Aliosio de Carcano, who came to Moscow to work on the project by special invitation.
The towering red-brick Kremlin walls, following the contours of the Kremlin hill as they have done for over 5 centuries, form an irregular triangle, with its southern flank against the Moskva River, its western wall rising high above the Alexandrovsky Gardens, and its north-eastern side following the edge of Red Square. The walls are a total of 2,205 metres long, between 3.5 and 6.5 metres thick, range from 5 to 19 metres in height, and are topped by swallow-tailed crenellations. Punctuating the walls are no less than 20 separate defensive towers of varying heights and shapes, topped with green tent roofs and gilt weathervanes or red stars. Each tower has its own name, distinctive features, and absorbing history. Running along the top of the walls is a walkway up to 4 meters in width.

The Bolshoi Theatre is a symbol of Russia for all time. It is one of the leading ballet and opera companies in the world. It was awarded this honor due to the major contribution it made to the history of the Russian performing arts. This history is on-going and today Bolshoi Theatre artists continue to contribute to it many bright pages. The Bolshoi building, which for many years now has been regarded as one of Moscow's main sights, was opened on 20 October 1856, on Tsar Alexander II's coronation day. An evening at the Bolshoi is still one of Moscow's most romantic and entertaining options for a night on the town. The glittering six-tier auditorium has an electric atmosphere, evoking over 235 years of premier music and dance. Both the ballet and opera companies perform a range of Russian and foreign works here.

History first records name of Lubyanskaya Square in 1480, when Grand Prince Ivan III of Moscow, who had conquered Novgorod in 1471, settled many Novgorodians in the area. They built the church of St Sophia, modelled after St Sophia Cathedral in Novgorod, and called the area Lubyanka after the Lubyanitsy district of their native city.Lubyanka Square is best known for the monumental Lubyanka Building, designed by and constructed from 1897 to 1898. Originally built for the insurance company Rossiya, it later became better known for housing the headquarters of the KGB in its various incarnations. The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) occupies the building. The square was renamed Dzerzhinsky Square for many years (1926–1990) in honor of the founder of the Soviet security service, Felix Dzerzhinsky. Monumental statue of Dzerzhinsky (nicknamed Iron Felix) was erected in the center of the square in 1958.Opposite the FSB building stands the massive Detsky Mir (Де́тский мир; Children World), Europe's largest children's store, built between 1953 and 1957 and fully restored in 2014. It hosts in its main atrium the world's largest mechanical clock movement: Raketa Monumental.
