After docking in St Petersburg, take a full-day tour to Moscow, to find out where the Red Square got it's name and if it has something to do with Communism, see the tribune on the top of Lenin's Mausoleum, where all the communist leaders stood during the famous military parades, see inside the Kremlin and take a ride on the metro decorated with mosaics, sculptures and moldings.
Take a tour of The Kremlin Armory - home to the Russian Diamond Fund. It boasts unique collections of the Russian, Western European and Eastern applied arts spanning the period from the 5th to the 20th centuries. Some of the highlights include the Imperial Crown of Russia, Monomakh's Cap, the ivory throne of Ivan the Terrible, and other regal thrones and regalia.
You will have the chance to see the Orloff Diamond; golden and silver tableware; articles, decorated with enamel, niello and engravings; embroidery with gold and pearls; imperial carriages, weapons, armour, and the Memory of Azov. See the Bouquet of Lilies Clock, the home of the Trans-Siberian Railway, the Clover Leaf, Moscow Kremlin, Alexander Palace, Standart Yacht, Alexander III Equestrian, Romanov Tercentenary, Steel Military Fabergé eggs. The ten Fabergé eggs in the Armoury collection (all Imperial eggs) is home to the greatest number of Imperial eggs, and is the second-biggest collection of Fabergé eggs in general, that belongs to a single owner.
Important, please note: cruise and ferry passengers do not require a Russian visa to take part in this tour, as they will be issued visa-free tickets. Land travelers will need a valid Russian visa for their stay in Russia. This tour is also only possible for cruise and ferry passengers who are docked into St Petersburg for more than one day, due to the long duration of the excursion.

This was a fabulous excursion and I highly recommend if you visit Russia, it is a must. The private tour allowed us to leave later than the cruise groups. We covered more in less time. The tour company that Viator set it up with (MaxiBalt Tours) was fantastic. They texted and called me the night before as I requested Viator to allow. We confirmed our meeting time and location. They picked me up at the terminal by van and excorted us to our seat on train. As we got off train, our guide was waiting for us with a sign. OUr tour guide was super! All spoke very good English and the tour of all they key sites were fabulous. This was the highlight of my husband and I's Viking Cruise.
