True Russia: Ancient Kolomna and Bronnitcy

Bronnitcy City Tour

Bronnitcy town, its population and economy traditionally tended to horses. The House of Romanov stables, established in Bronnitsy by 1634, evolved into stud farms supplying riding horses to the cavalry. In the 1780s the administrative reform of Catherine the Great turned the village into a proper small town with a grid plan and a growing merchant community. In the second half of the 19th century Bronnitsy was gradually industrialized, becoming a town of small textile mills and jewelers.

The main and oldest landmark of Bronnitsy is the Cathedral of the Archangel, standing in the heart of the city. To the north of the Archangel Cathedral there is a church of Mother of God built in the late XIX century.

At the entrance to the city on the Ryazan road, you will see the brick Church of the Assumption. Bronnitsy history is inextricably linked to this site.

Kolomna City tour and Kremlin

Kolomna is an ancient and beautiful city of Russia, located in 120 km from Moscow. It is placed on two big rivers: the Moskva and the Oka. Kolomna was founded in 1177 and like all ancient Russian cities, Kolomna has a Kremlin, which is built from red bricks and is similar to the famous Moscow Kremlin. The most famous citadel of the Kremlin is Marinkin's citadel, where Marina Mnishek was taken into custody.

In the Kremlin you will experience the full atmosphere of ancient Kolomna, coming to Cathedral Square, which is headed by the magnificent Cathedral of the Assumption - the memory of the reign of Dmitry Donskoy.
