Mostar War Tour - A Story Of Love Friendship And Broken Hearts

Join the Storyteller on a trip trough time and travel all the way back to the moment in history when the Great Ilirian tribes called these lands home. Listen carefully to the echoes of centuries going by and hear the unstoppable fury of the Slavic Tribes taking control of these lands.

Listen carefully as the guide makes an introduction into the series of events leading to the demise of Yugoslavia and War in Mostar. You will hear stories about different periods in history of the region, Bosnian Kingdom, Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian and working our way up trough the period of Yugoslavia, we will reach the moment when the very fabric of the soul of this amazing city was torn to pieces.

You will hear stories about how the war started, what it actually meant to live in Mostar during the war for civilians. Storyteller will tell you about different aspects of daily life, such as finding and preparing food, keeping warm during winter, hiding from enemy army and finding shelters during heavy artillery barrage.

By presenting his personal experiences in an objective manner and supporting that with actual facts easily checked via numerous written as well as online sources of information, Storyteller will make an emphasis on the fact that we can not blame one entire nation for the War in Mostar and all the horrible things that happened.

With his somewhat dark sense of humor, he will tell you stories about the good people in times of war and stories of brothers fighting on opposite sides. He will tell you about the courage of ordinary people that saved the lives of thousands by a single act of bravery.

Tour will start at previously agreed meeting point and after a brief introduction, we will start the tour by walking towards the area of the town where the actual front line with trenches and barricades was installed.

After the walking part of the tour, we drive out on top of a hill outside the town so we can put in perspective geographically. 

On our way to Mostar we will make a detour to visit Tito’s Underground Airport, a top secret military facility built by Yugoslav Army.

Upon completing the visit, the tour is over. You get dropped off back to Mostar and say farewell to your guide.
