Dabbawalas Tour with Dhobi Ghat and Dharavi Slums in Mumbai

At 10.00 am, our driver will pick you up from your booked hotel in Mumbai. In the company of our tour guide you will be transferred to Church Gate station, a major station of the Mumbai local train. Enjoy the journey from Church Gate to Mahalaxmi station, train ticket will be provided for the same. Get down at Mahalaxmi station and see numerous dabbawalas deboarding with their respective bunch of tiffins to be delivered. See how they manage to carry and deliver umpteen tiffins to different locations. Next,we will move forward with Dhobi Ghat tour. You will be taken to the site of world’s largest open air Laundromat. Enjoy the view of thousands of washermen engaged in cleaning following traditional washing method even in the modern date of electronic washing machines.

Later in the day, we will continue with the Dharavi Slum tour. Dharavi is Asia’s largest slum and one of the largest in the world. Explore the settlement with highly thick density of people living in the area. The slum is also shot in the Oscar award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. The tour guide will take you to the main sites of the slum occupied by small scale businesses and local houses.
