Morning Heritage Walk in Mumbai on Private Basis

The tour of Heritage Walk in Mumbai starts at early morning 8:00 am. It starts with a visit to the Gateway of India, which is one of the remarkable sites what Mumbai is acclaimed for. When finally India attained freedom from the clutches of the British regime in 1947, Gateway of India was the place where the British troops bid us goodbye.

Next, you walk towards the Regal Theater, which is based on a walking distance of around 5 mins from Gateway of India. It commenced its services in 1933 and it was the only Art Deco cinema, which was designed by Karl Schara. The first film that aired at this cinema hall was “The Devil’s Brother” starring Laurel and Hardy. After this you walk for about 10 minutes towards the Prince of Wales Museum. Walk past by the building and admire the remarkable work of designer, George Wittet. Just opposite to the Museum is Elphistone College, which is known for its Gothic-Victorian-style structure that will definitely drag your attention.

 Then proceed to the Mahatma Gandhi Road where you can witness another historic building, David Sassoon Library. The library structure was funded by a Jewish businessman whose name was David Sassoon. While you are walking, just next to the library, you will come across the popular Army and Navy Building, which was used as a British army navy store. Continue your walk towards the University of Bombay and after that visit the High Court of Mumbai. From here walk towards the Fort business district, South Mumbai, where you will come across, Flora Fountain made up of stone.

Then proceed towards the Victoria Terminus Railway Station, which is an historic site of Mumbai and now popular as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. From here, take a short taxi ride from VT station to Colaba. It is a 2km drive and here you can sit at the Leopold Local café. After the Mumbai Heritage Walk Tour you can visit the Jehangir Art Gallery. Here witness the work of great artists in the form of paintings and creations. After an eventful day your tour comes to an end and we drop you back to your hotel.
