Day 1 : Ellora Caves & Local Sightseeing
• Arrive in Aurangabad early morning
• After check-in into the hotel and getting fresh, visit Ellora Caves, which is one of the largest rock-cut monastery-temple cave complexes in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments, and artwork, dating from the 600-1000 CE period.
• In the evening visit the grand Devagiri Fort.
• Don’t miss the Bibi ka Maqbara, which is a replica of the Taj Mahal.
• Return to hotel in the evening
Day 2 : Ajanta Caves
• Visit Ajanta caves.
• The Ajanta Caves are about 30 in number, rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BCE to about 480 CE. The first Buddhist cave monuments at Ajanta date from the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C. During the Gupta period (5th and 6th centuries A.D.), many more richly decorated caves were added to the original group. The paintings and sculptures of Ajanta, considered masterpieces of Buddhist religious art, have had a considerable artistic influence.
