HALF DAY LINDERHOF CASTLE TOUR, with GAP, ETTAL, OBERAMMERGAU from GARM-PART

Itinerary

This Tour takes about 5-6 Hours, we see Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Olympic Ski Stadium, then we go to visit the Ludwig Strasse, the oldest street in the area at over 2000 years old, built by the Celts before the Romans invaded.

Then we visit the Abbey at Ettal, built in 1330 as an armed Monastery with Knights of the Teutonic Order.

We move onto the small Castle at Linderhof where Ludwig spent most of his adult life while he was building Neuschwanstein.

We DO NOT visit Neuschwanstein, too much time wasted on traveling when you can see more here that others tend to miss.

Then we go to the World Famous Oberammergau where the Passion Play is performed every 10 years, it was also the site of a Messerschmitt Jet engine factory after Augsburg was bombed in 1944, just as Linderhof was used by Messerschmitt as well.

There is much to see in Oberammergau and I had the privilege to live and work there for 15 years,

I even worked here for 3 Passion Plays, 1980, 1984 for the Jubilee Passion Play and 1990.

A great Tour with an opportunity to take some great photographs and meet some real woodcarvers-

I even had a few Bars in O´gau so I know the locals and traditions very well.
