Munich's forgotten WW2 battlefield walking tour

About this activity
This tour focuses on the events of April 28th-30th, which culminated in a comparatively little-known action known as the Battle for Neuheuberg.
After reaching the suburbs by public transport (ticket included) the tour disembarks and continues on foot.
You will then:
See where American tanks came under intense anti-tank fire
Explore the nearby woods, examining surviving US foxholes
Traverse the killing ground, which was swept by German fire: now a nature reserve
Examine the remains of German trenches
Compare photos of the former SS barracks - scene of very fierce combat - with the buildings today
Examine uniforms and equipment of the opposing forces
Battlefields are by their very nature large expanses. To this end there are 2 route options: route 1 is approximately 4 miles, whilst route 2 is about 2.5 miles. The former route traverses what was an SS artillery range, now open meadow and woods, a nice walk on a summer´s day. Both routes are flat, with no elevation or climb to speak of.
