About this activity
Meet for your 2-hour walking tour at the tour office in the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) a little before your departure time. This tour is offered at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. This private tour is a customized experience, so be sure to include any specific requests.
See some of Munich’s top attractions, and discover its days of Third Reich rule. Learn about the history of Munich, as well as the Third Reich’s rise to power here. This tour features visits to historic landmarks, such as Marienplatz, Frauenkirche, and the Viktualienmarkt. Then explore those sites associated with the Third Reich, such as the building where Hitler first joined the Nazis and the former headquarters of the Gestapo.
Stop at Marienplatz, the city’s main square since 1158, and find the Old Town Hall, one of the city's most beautiful buildings from the Gothic era, and the Rathaus-Glockenspiel. Also, see Munich’s famous watering hole, Hofbräuhaus — a festive 3-floor beer hall dating back to the 16th century and Frauenkirche, a church that serves as the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising.
At the end of your tour, head back to where you started — the tour office.
