If you are looking to get from point A to point B as quickly and as effective as possible and not deal or have to think about trains and connections, this is it. You will skip the time slot tour line and enjoy. Also plan time for the bridge. Do not expect a guided tour, you will get the tour from the castle staff.

It may just be that we are used to american tours when everything is pre arranged but this didn't exactly meet my expectation. Essentially, we paid for someone to drive us around. What we had to do to get to Fussen also wasn't very clear and finally, and I don't if it is the guide's fault or Viator but there was no place to sign up kids under 16 so we only got tickets for the adults which created quite a stir when we got there with our teenager. The location were great I would choose a different way to tour them if I were to do it again. They did get us tickets and got around the long lines at Neuschwanstein, thumbs up for that.
