Itinerary

Day 1: MUSCAT – QURIYAT – FINS BEACH – WADI SHAB – SUR – WAHIBA

Stop At: Wadi Shab, 50km West of Sur, Sur 411 Oman
Arrive at Quriyat, a very large fishing village between the lagoon and the sea. The port of Quriyat is still guarded by a watchtower.
Drive through the coastal road to sur. Arrive at Fins beach (White beach) and stop for a short swim. Continue to 'Wadi Shab ', Shab in Arabic, literally means “Ravine between Cliffs". Shallow green pools and abundant shade give Wadi Shab a perfect setting for a picnic
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Wahiba Sands, Jalan Bani Buhassan Oman
Proceed to Wahiba sands via a small visit of Sur Town.
Very soon you will come face to face with the enormous desert and our experienced driver will drive you through the sand dunes to give you a thrill of soft dune driving.
After having enjoyed the drives over the lovely dunes you could perhaps meet the Bedouin family to know more about their life style in the desert.

Day 2: WAHIBA - WADI BANI KHALID – NIZWA

Stop At: Wadi Bani Khalid, Road 23 apprx. 40 km from Bidiyyah Muscat-Sur Road, Muscat 113 Oman
You will drive through small villages and towns before arriving at Wadi Bani Khalid. This drive through the mountain offers a panoramic view of the beautiful landscape below. You will pass many pretty villages embedded in the mountains. Here the road winds down to the wadi alongside a large, shallow pool fringed with vegetation & ends at a village. We park our vehicles at this point & continue on a short trek to the deep blue pools of the wadi. If you wish you may enjoy a swim in this glorious grace of nature. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes & walking shoes for this trip.

Day 3: NIZWA - BAHLA - JABREEN - MUSCAT

Stop At: Nizwa Fort Oman, Nizwa Oman
Proceed on a tour of the Oasis city of Nizwa, which was once the capital of Julanda Dynasty in the 6th & 7th Century AD. Today it remains as the most popular tourist attractions with its historical buildings & imposing fort. Visit the Nizwa fort with its enormous round tower built in the 17th century built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'aruba to defend the route to the interior. The fort dominates the entire area, with the town having grown around the edifice. Access to the top is possible only by means of a narrow, twisting staircase barred by heavy wooden doors, studded with metal. From the top of the tower one can get a bird's eye view of the Nizwa city.

Stop At: Nizwa Souk, City Center Close to the fort, Nizwa 611 Oman
The city, famous for its handicrafts and agricultural products, has an expansive souq with an array of products. It is one of the most important in the country besides Muttrah. The souq bustles with vendors selling everything from meat, fish, fruits and vegetables to spices, dates, gold and silverware. Nizwa is renowned for its silver jewelry which is considered to be the best in the country. Its people are masters in Khanjar making (curved dagger), recognised for its distinctive style and patterns. They also make copper ware, coffee pots, swords, leather goods and pottery.

  • Oman government is planning to introduce a 5% VAT from 01 Jan 2018 onwards. However, we did not reckon VAT in the above package cost as we are waiting for more clarity on the subject from the concerned authority. We will keep you posted, once the law is enacted by the government.
