About this activity

DAY 1:
Welcome to Oman! Your guide will await you at Muscat International airport and will lead you around the most beautiful places in Muscat before checking in at the hotel. Start your Half-Day Muscat City Tour from the Sultan Qaboos Mosque-Grand Mosque, the 5th biggest Mosque in the world (please consider the dress code). The Mosque is open from 0800 HRS till 1100 HRS (except Friday). Pass the embassy quarter and enjoy a guided tour through the beautiful Royal Opera House (tour services are just available if there is no rehearsal on stage). Visit the Bait Al Baranda Museum. After this you drive along the corniche to Muttrah Souk, the oldest souk in Oman. Continue to Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by two Portuguese Forts, Al Mirani and Al Jalali. Check-in at hotel. Afternoon at leisure.Overnight at Crowne Plaza Hotel Muscat.

DAY 2:
On your way to Nizwa stop at the famous Amouage factory where you can discover the manufacture and the ingredients of their unique perfumes (closed on Friday and Saturday). Proceed to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. After that you will walk around the souq of Nizwa and get to know more about its history at the fort. This region has a very long and powerful history of which you will have a glimpse during a photo stop at the UNESCO world heritage site Bahla Fort and during your visit of the unique castle in Jabreen. Overnight at Golden Tulip Nizwa.

DAY 3
Drive up to around 2000 m above sea level to enjoy the beauty of Jebel Akhdar, which means green mountain. The scenery will quickly change on your way to the desert. Before entering the sand, experience another natural beauty of Oman: Wadi Bani Khalid that invites you for a swim in the pools or a walk.The perfect place for the sunset is on top of the dunes! After that reach to the camp. Dinner and overnight at Sama al Wasil Camp.

DAY 4:
Depending on your departure time at the airport you have the possibility to see the following sights: First of all you will return to the coastline and reach Sur. In former times one of the most important trading cities in the Arabian Sea, where authentic dhows are still built in the traditional fashion. . You visit the dhow factory where traditional wooden ships are made and the open air dhow museum. After leaving Sur you will drive alongside the coastline to Muscat. Take the chance to walk through Wadi Shab or to explore Wadi Tiwi by car. Just in time to reach your flight you will be brought back to Muscat International Airport.

  • All Museum / forts visits are subject to change without notice. Museums are normally closed on, Fridays, Saturdays and Public Holidays. Similarly visits to forts may be changed without notice since certain forts are often closed temporarily for renovations on a regular basis.
  • VAT Oman government is planning to introduce a 5% VAT from 01 Jan 2018 onwards. However, we did not reckon VAT in the above package cost as we are waiting for more clarity on the subject from the concerned authority. We will keep you posted, once the law is enacted by the government.
