Itinerary

Day 1: DAY 1 : Hamra - Misfah - Jebel shams – Grand Canyon

Stop At: Misfat al Abreyeen, Al Hamra Oman
Pick up time 8.30 a.m. After check out of your hotel

Your first stop will be, Misfat Al Abriyeen, set in a stunning landscape above terraced plantations of date palms.

This is a rare sight in Oman as most palms are grown on the plains.

The ancient houses and ruined watchtower perched on the mountain complete the scene.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Al Hamra village, Al Hamra, Oman
You will then proceed to Al Hamra, The oldest villages in Oman with clay houses dating back up to 400 years.

After enjoying lunch your experience continues through the untamed and rugged countryside.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Jebel Shams, Al Hamra Oman
Then you will proceed to the top of Jebel Shams, “Sun Mountain”, Oman’s highest peak at 3009 meters.

The cooler temperatures will surprise as you reach the top to get a spectacular view of the “Grand Canyon”.

Sleeping in high altitude will get you closer to the stars. Overnight at Jebel Shams resort. (Overnight stay at Sama heights).

Day 2: DAY 2 : Nizwa fort & Souq – Wahiba Sands

Stop At: Nizwa Fort Oman, Nizwa Oman
Pick up 8.30 a.m. You will depart your hotel and proceed towards the spectacular Nizwa Fort with its massive Circular Cannon Tower, one of the most impressive forts in Oman.

You will also visit the Nizwa traditional Souq. The Souq is a lively place and an ideal location to purchase handicrafts and souvenirs.

Stop At: Arabian Oryx Sanctuary, Oman
Post that we will start your journey to Wahiba Sands. In the heart of the golden sands of Sharqiyah Desert nestled among stunning and ever changing patterns of sand dunes, is the Arabian Oryx Camp.

Here you will find a luxurious Bedouin style air conditioned tent with a private Bathroom, also offering a selection of free luxury toiletries.

After settling into the camp you will be offered the amazing experience of dune bashing, here your driver will show you his sand dune-driving skills with an adrenaline-fueled 4WD safari across 150-metre dunes with a spectacular view of the sunset.

Followed by delicious Arabic Cuisine along with live entertainment whilst you sit under a starry sky around a Camp Fire this truly is a once in a lifetime experience. (Overnight stay at Arabian Oryx Camp)

Day 3: DAY 3 : Wadi bani Khalid – Sur – Turtles

Stop At: Wadi Bani Khalid, Road 23 apprx. 40 km from Bidiyyah Muscat-Sur Road, Muscat 113 Oman
After an early breakfast at the desert camp you will depart on an exciting 4wd journey through the desert and visit the local bedouin house and have Omani Coffee.

You will enjoy their traditional ways of hospitality.

Our next stop will be Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most beautiful wadis. The wadi has clear deep blue water and counts among the few wadis of Oman that hold water all year round. From the mountain springs, the water is led to the oasis where it sustains the typical date palms.

The pretty villages of Wadi Bani Khalid cling precariously to the rugged mountainside. After lunch you will travel to the traditional city of 'Sur' and check in at hotel. You will have time to relax at the hotel.

Stop At: Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, Ras Al Jinz, Sur 411 Oman
Dinner will be served at 7:30 before a drive to Ras Al Jinz to see the turtles at around 9:00 pm.

Whilst we are very successful in sighting turtles, there is no guarantees as it is a natural phenomenon.

You will finish the tour at 11:00pm and travel back to the resort for an overnight.

Post this back to the hotel for overnight stay. (Overnight stay at Turtle beach resort)

Day 4: DAY 4 : Sink Hole - Wadi Shab – Muscat

Stop At: Wadi Shab, 50km West of Sur, Sur 411 Oman
Pick up 8.15 a.m. You will depart from Sur to travel south towards the Quriyat Region.

Our first stop will be Wadi Shab (Wadi meaning valley between cliffs).

Upon arrival at Wadi Shab you will transfer to a small fishing boat to be taken across the wadi to enable you to start your journey.

The word breathtaking hardly does it justice. You will walk through the amazing canyon, until you arrive at the wadi which leads to the Keyhole.

Here you can relax; take a dip in the pools. You will have the opportunity to swim through a pool of crystal clear water and dive through a narrow keyhole, inside you will find a magnificent cave, complete with an incredible waterfall.

After travelling just a few kilometers you will find yourselves absorbed in an almost lunar world where unreal mountains dominate the view.

You will continue to the mountainous landscape arriving at the dramatic Bimmah Sinkhole. Once you refreshed we will start our journey towards Muscat and end the tour.
