Muscat full-day tour with lunch

During this tour you will discover a unique blend of the ancient and the modern. Muscat is a beautiful clean city, which lies in the middle of a maze of brown pleated mountain lulled by the Arabian Sea. The city has undergone dramatic development in the past two or three decades. However, it has pride in that it has never lost its heritage and culture.

Your visit will start with a tour of the Grand Mosque, an architectural marvel and is perhaps the new landmark of the city. You will continue your drive through the ministries area. Here you can see a number of modern building with touches of Islamic architecture. Next you will visit the fish market and the Muttrah Souk with its narrow covered alleys where the exotic smells of mounds of spices. Coffees, ancient remedies and enticing perfumes fill the air. We will visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum which has a fine exhibit of Omani history and culture. You will have a photo stop at the magnificent Al Alam Palace (the official residence of Sultan Qaboos) flanked by the twin Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali.

You will pass by Bait-Al-Baranda, a great museum in Muscat and stop for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will explore better this mystic city and it civilization including the Souks and all the treasures and spices you can find.
