The interior design of the castle features decorated windows, wooden balconies, arches with inscribed Arabic calligraphy. After the visit we continue our journey to Nizwa, the ancient capital of Oman in the 6th and 7th centuries AD. Nizwa is one of the oldest cities in Oman and it was once a centre of trade, religion, education and art. The main tourist attractions in the city are Nizwa Fort, the traditionll Souq and Falaj Daris (world Heritage Site). Lunch in local restaurant is included, After that on our way back to Muscat, we will stop for a visit of the pretty village of Birkat al Mauz a real ghost town that was abandoned in 1959, located at the bottom of the Jebel Akhdar, Birkat Al Mauz is an oasis, home to many birds, dense date palms and banana plantations.
