This market dates back to the reign of Tipu Sultan in the 18th century. At the time it took the
form of a small weekly market where fresh vegetables and fruits were probably the most traded
items. Today, the market has over 800 shops and is spread over 3 acres of land.
Construction of the structure of the market is housed in today began in the 1900s and advanced
in stages through the years during the reign of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. It was named after
erstwhile Maharaja Dodda Devaraja Wodeyar.

Stop At: Dufferin Clock Tower, End Of Devaraja Market Near KR Circle, Mysuru (Mysore) India

The Silver Jubilee clock tower was built in 1927 to commemorate the silver jubilee (25 years) of
the rule of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the maharaja of Mysore. The cost for this was shared by the
palace staff of that era.
The clock tower is also called Dodda gadiara , means the "big clock tower", the "small clock
tower" being the Dufferin Clock Tower located near KR Circle.

Stop At: Rangacharlu Memorial Hall, In Main City, Mysuru (Mysore) India

The Rangacharlu Memorial Hall now well known as Mysore Town Hall was constructed in 1884
in memory of late Chettipantam Veeravalli Rangacharlu, the first dewan of mysore state.
Rangacharlu Memorial Hall housed the city improvement trust board and the municipal offices
in the past. The architecture of the building has two distinct features, the pediment with an
intricately carved figurine of goddess laxmi with elephants on both sides and the four pairs of
Corinthian columns. Rangacharlu Memorial Hall presently serves as the town hall of Mysore
City and is used for various cultural activities.

Stop At: Jayachamarajendra Circle, Hunsur Road, Agrahara, Ittige Gudu, Mysuru, Karnataka 570001, India

The circle was originally called Hardings Circle. The locals preferred to call it Aru Gate because
six gates converged in the circle leading to six main roads of the city. The western road leading
to the palace and city bus station is called the Albert Victor Road. The two northern roads are
called Bangalore Nilgiri Road as they are both one-way-twins leading to Bangalore. The
southern road is called Nilgiri Road which goes to Ooty. The eastern road is called Mirza Road
and it goes to Postal Training Center in Nazrabad. The southeastern road is called Lokarjan
Mahal road and it goes to the Mysore Zoo and Karanji Lake.[
