Awesome Adventures Fiji has insurance cover available with a leading insurer of adventure style travel which can be taken out at the time of booking.
  • some activities are available only at certain resorts. Where you stay determines the activities that you can select
  • If you need a hairdryer, these are not for you. Resorts are typically basic but on a beautiful beach. Usually there is no hot water, but the local water supply is tepid. Bring your own towel, soap and other necessities. All these resorts are owned and run by Fijians who love hosting and sharing their lives with the guests. MEALS are included in the accommodation price and packages. Meals are simple and filling, rather than gourmet and are served at specific times of the day. (e.g. breakfast. 8am – 9am) providing an opportunity to meet fellow travellers.
  • Generally these are more modern properties with a higher standard of accommodation and amenities than 1 (one) coconut properties but still with a strong Fijian flavour. Ownership and management of these properties is a mix of Fijian and European, with Fijian staff. There’s aircon or fans during generator operating hours. Meals are generally more varied with more courses and of a higher standard than one coconut properties. MEALS are not included in the accommodation price and packages. There is a compulsory Meal Package price to be paid directly to the Resort at check-in. Meals are served at specific times of the day (e.g. breakfast 8am – 9am) providing an opportunity to meet fellow travellers. Meal prices shown are for the number of days listed in the itinerary, (not per day). Should extra nights be booked, additional meal prices apply.
  • We are very happy to collect you from your accommodation on the first day of your Awesome Adventure Fiji package for the transfer to Port Denarau. If you don’t book your accommodation through us, you have to advise us where you are staying. If you don’t advise us, getting to Port Denarau on time is your responsibility and at your own cost. We also provide a courtesy coach drop off back to most resorts in the Nadi, Wailoaloa and Denarau areas: just let us know where you are staying.
  • Island resorts are small and intimate, so capacity is limited. This means on rare occasions we may need to swap the order of your nights around (so you stay at the same resorts but in a different date order to what you selected), or on even rarer occasions, we may arrange an alternative resort with you. We would advise you of these changes within 48 hours of submitting your booking.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 6-Day Yasawa and Mamanuca Island Adventure. I was picked up by a taxi from my hotel and driven to another hotel to be picked up by bus and driven to Port Denarau, where I checked in and boarded the boat for my first destination. The first stop was the Oarsman Bay Lodge, where I was treated like one of the family and called by name by all the smiling staff, there was a snorkelling trip to the Blue Lagoon and snorkelling in a cave included in the cost. The meals were delicious and were catered to your personal tastes. The bure I stayed in was excellent with air-conditioning and a comfortable bed and hammock outside if needed. While at Oarsmans I walked along the beach for about 30 minutes to visit a village where I was welcomed with Bula by everyone I saw and even some I did not see who were inside houses, this walk along the beach needs to be done at low tide. There was excellent snorkelling on a reef straight off the beach in front of the resort. The next stop was the Korovou Eco-Tour Resort. The accommodation and meals were very good, however the bar only had beer and soft drinks, no spirits. The cost included a trip to the Coral Gardens and was well worth the trip there was no ladder to get back into the boat, which may be a problem for some people. There was an excellent reef directly in front of the lodge for some great snorkelling. The last resort was the Beach Comber Island Resort. The Bure I had on this island was extremely spacious and was on a beautiful white sandy beach, just a couple of metres from the water. There is a definite party atmosphere on this island. The food was OK and served buffet style. An included cruise on the Seapspray was very good and included an amazing lunch cooked barbeque style on the back of the boat. While the transfer from hotel to the port and to and from the islands were very professional, efficient and seamless, there was a slight problem on my return transfer , where I was dropped off at a hotel and then I was supposed to have a pre booked and paid for taxi for my final transfer to my hotel. There was no taxi waiting, as promised, and there was a stressed lady who was already at the hotel waiting for a taxi as well, which of course never arrived and we were fortunate to be staying at the same hotel and shared the taxi fare. In the scale of the whole trip this was a minor inconvenience and did not detract from the overall experience and I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone.

Fantastic experience. Would recommend to go for more than just the basic accommodation as the facilities were less than basic in some places. The timing and organisation of events were very much 'Fiji Time'. Some events were too difficult to fit in when they were scheduled on the day of departure from an Island. I missed out on several included events because of this. Overall an enjoyable experience, but would definitely opt for a more inclusive package next time.
