About this activity
Suva is the Capital City of the Fiji Islands. With a population of around 250,000 the city boasts some of the major happenings in Fiji. Some of this includes the very famous Hibiscus Carnival which happens every August, the Fiji Showcase which is Fiji's largest trade and event show, and the Parliament House where the political issues are handled.
Visiting the Fiji Museum located in the Botanical Gardens will enable you to see some of the archaeological collection dating back to almost 3700 years. Items on display range from musical instrument to cooking apparatus and jewellery.
Next on the list would be the government building and the Presidents House which is guarded 24 hours by well disciplined guards.
Shopping and and lunch in the city is another great thing to do. Try out different dishes the Fiji way.

I would not call this a tour but private car with chauffeur. It was good enough and convenient to have our personalized itinerary especially with 2 littlies in tow but I really want fellow travellers to know not to expect much info from the driver. Our was very nice,friendly and patient especially when our 6 month old was 'complaining' due to heat but he was just that: the driver and not a guide as we expected booking a 'tour'. This is quite an expensive option as you can hire a car for the day for less than half the price of the cost of this tour and do your thing entirely. Just something you may want to consider instead of booking this, especially as the only really visit-worthy places in Suva are within an easily walkable area so you can park up the hire car and do it all yourself!
Our driver picked us up and off we went to see Suva. The highlight was the museum, seeing the Fiji way of life. Beautiful mountains. I'm wondering what's left of what we saw.
