Our guide Ilhom was very friendly and knowledgeable and was happy to suite the itinerary and show us things to our interests - whilst the tour offers set destinations was still time to venture off along the way. Snow Monkey Park was amazing, such a cool experience for all ages who have never seen before. Note there can be quiet a walk depending on the weather and which carpark is open. Japanese Ryokan was quiet an experience, recommend to research 'Ryokan' prior to ensure you have a full understanding - not all hotels offer private or western bathrooms - food was definitely a traditional experience. Considering how you are travelling after the tour the next morning as local train is 1hour + from Nagano Station - especially when you have lots of luggage.

Everything about the day was fantastic! Fan was so nice and friendly, it was easy to have casual conversations with her. At the same time, she also gave the wife and I space as we walked around to take in the sights. Fan was so helpful in answering questions and helping us with the communication barrier at the local stops. Overall, it was a fantastic time and one of the many wonderful experiences from Japan my wife and I will remember!

The private tour experience was fantastic, and Ilhom was a gracious and knowledgeable tour guide. We visited all of the locations listed in the description of the tour, and Ilhom explained many facts about each location and waited patiently if we wanted to go off-script and take extra pictures or see something along the way. He brought us to a local ice cream shop that was one of his personal favorites - it was great! We visited neat little stops and snack places, and at the major sites such as the Snow Monkey mountain, our guide patiently waited as we took all of the time we wanted to our heart's desire. This was extremely important, as it was our primary purpose for the tour, and not once did we feel any rush. We truly got everything we wanted out of that visit. The one night at the Ryokan was an excellent experience, too - highly rated if you have not experienced a Ryokan before. The hosts were extremely gracious and the dinner/breakfast was exceptional. Thanks for a great trip!
