About this activity
Yamanouchi-town is well-known for the snow monkeys,many hot springs and big ski field with powder snow.
The monkeys are in a bath mainly in winter only, but they are still so adorable and interesting to observe all the time in a year.
This town have lots of nature so we can enjoy different scenery in a year( spring- cherry blossoms , summer- green mountains and hiking, autumn- color leaves, winter- snow mountains and snow sports) 
・On this tour, spend full day in Yamanouchi and enjoy the famous snow monkeys, nature, food and hot springs. 
・A local guide will meet you up at Nagano station at 8:30am then take a train togeher heading to Yudanaka station. You will enjoy the scenery of the mountains and many fruits farms on the train.
・From the Yudanaka station, we take a cab and also walk through beautiful forest pass for half an hour.
・We arrive at the park by 10:30, now its the time to enjoy observing Japanese wild monkeys in the park. You can have approximately one hour in the park.
・Walk back through the forest trail, then take a cab to the place which you can try making Soba. Soba (buckwheat noodle) is traditional soul food in Japan, also Nagano is one of the best place to get delicious Soba. There are many professionals for soba making in this town, You can learn from them. Your guide will help you to learn from the local teachers. 
You can enjoy eating the Soba which you made, its gonna be only one experience!
・After being filled by Soba noodle, let's head to the Shibu onsen. Shibu onsen is a very small town but has 1300 years history. The stone paving street with old houses looks lovely, you will feel like you travel to the past of Japan. You can enjoy soaking in a traditional local style bath, and you will be refreshed.
・At 16:15, you will head back to the Yudanaka station by a cab, then take a train back to Nagano station. You will be at Nagano station by 17:30.

  • Snow Monkeys in warm seasons: The snow monkeys mainly enjoy bathing in cold winter season to keep warm. From spring to Autumn,the monkeys are normally just play around the park, grooming each other, you don't see the monkeys are bathing like in a winter. Also please note that the monkey park is not a zoo, and they are wild monkeys, so we cannot predict their behavior.The park is open through the year so you can visit anytime and they are very adorable and interesting to observe in any seasons, but there is no guarantee that you will see the monkeys and monkeys bathe in a bath.
