About this activity
Your activity will start at the kimono shop which is located nearby the Fushimi subway station, around a 5 minute walk. You will be provided an exact map of the kimono shop after your booking is confirmed.
When you enter the shop, you will read through some written English instructions and start choosing your favorite kimono for photo shooting. Especially for women, there are more than a hundred of Furisode to choose from. Furisode is a traditional, long-sleeved kimono that is a formal outfit that Japanese women wear for various celebration or events, such as the attendance to a coming-of-age ceremony of Japan or wedding ceremonies. For men, there is also a selection of traditional kimono attire, but not as many as there are for women.
After you choose which kimono to wear, a professional will dress you in the kimono. Please note that hair and makeup is not included in the package.
There is a photo studio at the shop. When you are ready, you will move to the studio and strike a pose like a model and have your photo taken in a traditional kimono costume.

- Confirmation will be received within 48 hours of booking, subject to availability
- Please advise your preferred date and time when you book
- Advise height/weight/shoe-size prior to arrival for properly fitted kimono and slippers.
- Any damages to kimonos such as holes or tears will be extra charges
- Kimono for women and men. Temporary children's kimono (under 150cm) is unavailable.
- Please note that more than one group may join the activity at a time
- The photoshoot will be held by Japanese-speaking staff. Written instructions in English will be provided
- This activity does not include transportation. We will give you an exact map of the place after your booking is confirmed.
