Day 1: Nairobi Airport Pick-up

Stop At: Nairobi Airport Transfer, Nairobi
Today you will be picked up at the Nairobi airport upon arrival and transferred to a tented camp where you will get settled in and make last minute arrangements for your exciting safari adventure ahead.

Day 2: Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve (B/L/D)

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve Kenya, Narok, Rift Valley Province
You will be picked from your hotel at 8:30am for journey south along the floor of the dramatic Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara National Reserve - an extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park also known as The 7th Wonder of the World because of the Great migration, witnessed every year between June and September when millions of wildebeests and zebras cross Mara River from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya in search of food and water and it is famous for its wide variety of resident wildlife all year round. With Lunch at Narok Town you will arrive Masai Mara National Reserve in time for an afternoon game drive where you may have a chance of seeing the ‘Big Five’, different varieties of birdlife and the best savannah vegetation in the world. This is a serene vast country of breath-taking vistas, a panorama of vast rolling plains and rounded hills, of intermittent groves of acacia woodlands and dense thickets of scrub. The Mara River and its tributaries which are margined by luxuriant riverine forest bisect the whole land. The famous Masai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. And in every direction, there are seemingly endless herds of game animals. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve (B/L/D)

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve Kenya, Narok, Rift Valley Province
Full day drives for the day to absorb the beauty and splendour of the Mara. In this country of breathtaking vistas, view its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators. Mara has the largest population of lions to be found in Kenya. Other animals to be seen here include Buffalo, Black Rhino, Hippopotamus, Leopard, Cheetah, Common Zebra, Coke's Hartebeest, White-bearded Gnu, Oribi, Warthog and Thomson's and Grant's Gazelles. The bird life of Mara is as profuse as its mammalian fauna.
Have a picnic lunch at the Mara River where you can enjoy your box lunch while watching crocodiles and hippos laze around in their natural habitat. This is a great way to take advantage of your time in the park and enjoy seeing the views below and all around you. After lunch continue your game drive in search for more wildlife.
Today you will be dropped off at the Masai Village at 5:00 pm for an opportunity to visit the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. Upon arrival at the village proceed for a nature walk with the Masai naturalist guide, you will get to see herbs that are used as medication among the Masai. Return to the village where a campfire will be lit, entertainment from both women, children and men of the village follows with a chance for you to join in their dancing. The chief will then give you stories of their culture and tradition, they will show you how the herbs seen during the nature walk are prepared and used. You will also have a glimpse into their homes and social structure, dinner will be served at the village followed by coffee and tea as you leave to return to your accommodation for overnight.
Optional: Tonight you will have the option to choose to sleep in an authentic Masai-style home with beds, located at the campsite (subject to availability).

Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi (B/L/D)

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve Kenya, Narok, Rift Valley Province
Embark on your last game drive in the park this morning before breakfast and catch a glimpse of the last animals you will see in the Masai Mara Reserve. Breakfast will be served back at your accommodation and then you will depart for your leisurely drive back to Nairobi today arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your tented camp to rest up. This evening you will be picked up and transferred to the iconic Carnivore Restaurant for a delicious dinner of various game meats including crocodile, ostrich, buffalo and ox among more basic chicken, pork and beef options.

Day 5: Bus Nairobi to Arusha (B/D)

Stop At: Arusha National Park, Arusha National Park, Arusha Region
Today you will take a bus from Nairobi to Arusha in the morning, crossing the border from Kenya to Tanzania along the way. Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the bus station and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. You will have the rest of the day at leisure to relax, walk around town and make last minute preparations for your upcoming safari adventure. Dinner is included this evening.

Day 6: Arusha - Tarangire National Park (L/D)

Stop At: Tarangire National Park, Tarangire National Park, Arusha Region
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, which is known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Its sparse vegetation makes it a beautiful and special location, where up to 300 elephants can be found, looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds. Migratory wildebeest, zebra and buffalo can also be seen crowding the shrinking lagoons. Here you will enjoy an afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch.

Day 7: Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park (B/L/D)

Stop At: Tarangire National Park, Tarangire National Park, Arusha Region
Today you drive to one of the most famous game parks in Africa, the Serengeti! Known to host one of the most amazing wildlife spectacles on earth – the great migration of wildebeest and zebra – the Serengeti’s vast plains are also home to a haven of other wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards and many other predators.

Day 8: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater Rim (B/L/D)

This morning, after enjoying a beautiful Serengeti sunrise, you’ll catch a glimpse of lions and other predators on their morning hunt during your first game drive. After brunch, you’ll then leave the park and go for the final game drive of the day while on your way to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's seven natural wonders! Before dinner is served, enjoy awesome views of the crater below.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha (B/L)

Today you’ll rise early in the morning to descend the 600m high walls to the floor of the crater and get up close with one of Africa's seven natural wonders! Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered one of the most beautiful and unique places in Africa. Here you will find a haven of African wildlife and you might also be lucky enough to witness the endangered Rhino! Enjoy a game drive and brunch by the hippo pool before driving back to Moshi, Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.

  • Pack as lightly as possible since there is limited space for luggage and you will not want to carry extra weight. Pack light-colored clothing, safari pants and shirts, sun hat, sunglasses, sun block, insect repellent, comfortable shoes, sandals, warm clothing, wool hat, scarf, rain poncho, warm socks, sweater, thermals, bathing suit, money belt, flashlight/torch, camera, extra batteries and memory cards (there is limited electricity available during some parts of the trip), waterproof bags for your camera, hand sanitizer, personal first aid kit, toiletries, rehydration powder, water bottle, contact lenses & glasses, electrical current adapters, earplugs, travel pillow, money pouch. Bring a small day-pack to carry your camera and personal items.
